How to split a household and ensure data is kept private; i.e. DV cases

The examples are based on the following household:

Applicant A - Primary applicant
Applicant B - Applicant leaving and requiring a new housing register

Example 1
Applicant B requires a new Housing Register application without notifying Applicant A that they have made   an application.
  1. Create a duplicate Person record for Applicant B
  2. f other household members exist on the case that are leaving with Applicant B then create duplicate Person records for them also 
  3. The new record will be flagged as a duplicate when it is saved, so mark it as 'Not a duplicate' and enter a reason why a duplicate person is required
  4. Ensure the email address added to the new Applicant B record is not the same as their existing Person record
  5. Create a new Case against the new Applicant B record
  6. Create a Housing Record application within the case
  7. Applicant B will be able to log into the Public portal using the new email address assigned to their new Person record and create an account to manage their application and bid
The above steps will create a completely separate Housing Register application For Applicant B that will ensure Applicant A has no visibility of.

Example 2
Applicant B requires a new Housing Register application but Applicant A is aware as they have already left the current home.
  1. Update the existing case and enter a leaving date for Applicant B
  2. If other household members exist on the case that are leaving with Applicant B then enter leaving dates for them also
  3. Edit Applicant A's Person record
  4. Update their current address with an End date that matches the date Applicant A left the case
  5. Create a new current address record, starting the same day as the date Applicant A left the case, at the same address. Include any household members that are remaining on the application with Applicant A
  6. On the Related People page, remove the relationship to Applicant B
  7. Also remove the relationship to any other household members moving with Applicant B
  8. Edit Applicant B's Person record
  9. Create relationships to those household members that are moving with Applicant B
  10. Create a new current address for Applicant B. Include any household members that are moving with Applicant B
  11. Create a new Case against Applicant B
  12. Create a Housing Record application within the case
  13. Applicant B will be able to log into the Public portal using their existing email address and create an account to manage their application and bid
The above steps will allow the existing Person record to be used to create a new case and Housing Register application but ensure any future updates made to the Person are not visible by Applicant A
