19. H-CLIC reporting


The Huume homeless module uses a number of different approaches to ensure the quality of the H-CLIC statutory data. 

Field level validation

The Homeless application form contains field level logic to ensure users complete the application with the correct values.
Users are not able to save the application until they have corrected all the errors on the form and chosen allowed values for those fields that have been flagged as errors.
When an application is moved through the workflow additional rules may be invoked that requires additional fields to be completed.

Schematron validation

When a homeless application is updated, it is queued to be checked against the H-CLIC schematron. This check is done overnight. The routine runs each application through the schematron and records any errors or warnings that are reported. Details of these errors and warnings are recorded against the case so they can be investigated.

To allow any cases with issues to easily be identified there are a number of fields on the homeless application that can be used in lists.

Set to 'Yes' if the application has any errors reported by the schematron check

Has H-CLIC warnings

Set to 'Yes' if the application has any warnings reported by the schematron check

H-CLIC awaiting validation

Set to 'Yes' if an application has been updated but has not yet been checked against the schematron

Any errors or warnings are displayed on the H-CLIC page when viewing an application.


Once the application has been updated to correct the issues it will then be re-submitted overnight to be checked against the schematron.


The H-CLIC page allows an H-CLIC case and person XML file to be generated for an individual application. It also allows a case to be included/excluded from the next quarterly return.

H-CLIC quarterly reporting

H-CLIC quarterly exports are generated automatically at the end of the quarter and can be accessed from the Jobs list.


H-CLIC jobs are visible in the list if you have been granted the appropriate privileges.

Job acknowledged

Allows the job to be marked as acknowledged. This field can be used in lists to filter those jobs that have not yet been processed

Creates a new job record to create a new version of the quarterly export

The History page provides a full audit trail related to the job, including details of when the XML files were downloaded and by who.
